Not as good as a T dipole antenna

 on December 31, 2017
By Kathleen Reynolds
This did work, connected directly to my receiver, but not as well as a simple wire dipole antenna. The connector of the Ancable antenna is a normal ‘F’ style coax connector, and I needed an adapter for my receiver, but it connected fine. I found that a simple ‘T’ style dipole wire antenna as at Radio Shack for about the same money, along with the Radio Shack 300ohm to 75ohm coax transformer/converter, worked better than the Ancable antenna, in my case. The Radio Shack dipole has a lead-in wire that gives me more positioning options than the Ancable. I found I could position the dipole vertically for best reception. My advice – buy a simple T type dipole with a 300-75ohm transformer.

A good FM antenna at a vert reasonable price

I got this antenna because the all-in-one AM/FM antenna I was using picked up too much electrical noise in my computer room (that’s where the receiver is). This one works just as well and costs only 1/3 what the combo unit does, AND it doesn’t pick up extraneous noise so I’d say it’s actually better.

Works perfectly on my Yamaha receiver.

Reception better than the original

Reception better than the original. Simple, but apparently well made. The screw loop at the end is a nice touch if you want to keep the wire tidy and stretched out.

Easy to install, works well.

Improved reception on Bose tabletop unit. I like to listen to NPR (FM) while I am doing housework, but sometimes there was interference in the signal. This little antenna solved that problem. Easy to install and clear reception.

Using antenna on an older Pioneer receiver but the FM antenna receptor is the same across the board, and it fits perfectly and works beautifully! I’m now getting a solid signal for 90% of the stations in town.

works great – be sure to completely extend the wire and move it around to get the best reception

I purchased this for a little more, reception "oomph" …

I purchased this for a little more, reception “oomph” for my Sangean WR-22 because others were. Save your $9. It’s nearly identical to the one provided with the radio and adds nothing. It may do what it promises… but, in this case, is not an upgrade.
