Fantastic Sound!

First of all, I want to watch BluRay movies with great sound. I don’t care about apps, wireless, streaming, painting the bathroom, flying in space, catching bluebirds or making hamburgers on the receiver. I just want great sound. Well, I had a $2000 Onkyo that I was using in my home theater with Martin-Logan speakers. Sound was good as long as you loved subtitles because the dialog was unintelligible most of the time. So I bought this Denon, and, since we just wanted to watch a movie one night, I hooked it up and just started the movie. I didn’t go through the microphone-aided setup to calibrate the receiver for the room. I didn’t mess with the multiple band EQ per speaker, balance levels, or anything else. Just hooked it up, plugged it in, and turned it on. It totally blew away the $2000 Onkyo! The sound was amazing, the dialog was clear, and the 7.1 functioned perfectly with great space and panning. Great receiver.

Not bad, not super-impressive either. Good, just not ‘great’

I like this receiver, but it’s not without some issues.

Great performance for the price.

Did alot of research before I bought this and could not be happier. Gave myself a $400 budget and settled in well under that with this model. Thus far operation has been flawless and easy. Probably my favorite feature is how you can calibrate the speakers to your specific room. My special lady friend was skeptical when I bought this but quickly converted to loving it. Oh, and our first two guests over after it was installed…one turns to the other and says…why doesnt your TV sound this good? That made me smile 🙂

Great sounding stereo for connected home.

Great product. I have it hooked up to my TV, as well as to power 8 ceiling speakers (6 inside, 2 out). Sound quality is excellent, setup is easy (you plug the Denon into a TV with an HDMI cable; I had it playing music in 5 minutes). I primarily use the Airplay feature on my iPhone to stream music, which works effortlessly. The Denon apps seem to work quite well too despite the app store reviews. I have not tried Alexa integration.

Works beautifully. I needed an RGB input for my SlingBox

Works beautifully. I needed an RGB input for my SlingBox, my old Denon had them this one does not, so I had to buy a rather expensive adapter. With the adapter I was able to connect all of my system equipment. Connecting the bare speaker wires was a pain so I put banana plugs on the wires and that made it a snap. Yes, I would recommend this product.

Mostly good receiver, some occasional networking issues

This receiver works well enough. We have it connected to a Vizio M65 television with a wide variety of inputs including our Comcast cable box, PS4, Switch, HTPC, and record player (with external phono amp). Everything has gone as expected expect for the occasional streaming issue. Everything looks great and the sound coming from a pair of KEF speakers is a pleasure.

Nice Home Theater Amp, Adequate Power

This was an upgrade from a AVR2113CI. The latest features are excellent, Ply from my iPhone, Audessy setup seems to sound better, the updated remote App is great, and the HEOS capability is excellent. More than adequate to run my 5.1 home theater system in a large room.

Pretty good. Got based on wirecutter recommendation.

Pretty good. Got based on wirecutter recommendation. Only nitpicks are that the on screen display does not show up when viewing 4k content. Also I can’t tell if it’s my apple tv or the receiver but sometimes when switching from HDR to SDR based on content, the screen goes totally black and you have to back out and go back in. Otherwise the auto speaker setup and all the defaults sound amazing. Great product. Handles all the Dolby vision stuff great!

I am Upgrading from the 710 model after a lightening strike. This receiver fixed the cludgey Bluetooth, media player and internet radio connections with the HEOS app. Set up was easy, performance is excellent and the value is the highest in its class. Buy it.

Best budget reciever

This reciever is great. Too many options for me to use. Plenty of power to go around. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a budget reciver that does ATMOS. The passthrough using the arc port works floorlessly changing it own channels when it sees i went for cable to bluray.
