Works great for an RV.

Works great for our RV. Single tuner but that’s fine for us, we only have one input from an external dish anyway. Initializes in 10-15 when the dish has a clear view of the southern sky but takes more time when some satellites are blocked. We’ve had DirecTV for over a decade but you can’t get HD programming unless you have a large dish, so we went with Dish and pay-as-you-go for our RV.

Problem using the Wally to point dish Antenna

The Wally HD receiver worked great but first I had to contact Dish and have them add a receiver to my account. I am still learning about the new features that the wally has as it is for my RV and I have not spent much leisure time in it since receiving the Wally. One negative with purchasing it was no manual came with it to guide you in pointing the dish antenna using the Wally, had to call Dish technical support to get to that feature as it was not obvious how to get the the correct screen and then get the correct satellite on the Wally displayed so i could use the satellite finder to point the satellite dish in the correct direction and optimism the signal strength.

Worked great.

My only complaint for this Wally, (and maybe they are all like this) if you are boon docking and you turn the inverter off to save power. The receiver has to go through the whole process again of finding the satellites. So it’s about a 10 minute wait, maybe longer, to view tv again. Other than that it worked wonderfully in Motorhome.

They work together just fine. To use the Wally receiver in you RV …

This should be sticky’d to the TOP of the reviews. I use the Wally receiver with my King Tailgater and have a 2nd receiver in the other room a VIP211z. They work together just fine.

Nice compact receiver

Using it in my rv with the Pathway X2 dish. We like it a lot. We added it to our home dish account for an additional $7 per month

Wally is the receiver to buy.

I’m giving this 4 stars because of two minor issues. One was the packaging…where the box was already open. I thought maybe I was receiving a used model but that wasn’t the case. Everything was inside and in new condition. The other issue is very minor. The receiver seems a bit under powered. There are very slight hesitations or delays when moving about through the menus and channels. So slight, I can easily live with them. It may be because I’m using an external hard drive and have unlocked the DVR functionality. The hard drive may be the weak link. Other than that, the device is awesome! The interface is very functional and easy to use. The device is also compact.
