Does What it’s Meant to Do
I got this for my boys (ages 4 & 6) when their other dvd player was broken. (A broken/cracked dvd was placed into it and it shorted). I was up in the air about getting this because of some of the negative reviews. It’s been a month since they’re had this dvd player in their room. Everything worked out of the box (to include the remote). The only issue that my kids keep complaining about is that they will put a dvd in and it won’t play right away. I’m not sure if this is bc of the player itself or bc all of their dvds are scratched due to their negligence. Due to this, I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I have not tested it out on any of my non kid dvds that aren’t scratched. The player also has a usb port that my 6 yr old uses to charge his Leappad. The player & remote are both easy to use for both the 6 & 4 year old. For the price I do recommend it for children’s use if you are looking for a child. I would use it in my room or anywhere else in the house if needed.
No frills, does the job
I was looking for a quality DVD player – I didn’t need anything fancy. I haven’t had it long, but so far it does the job. I didn’t give it 5 stars because of the remote. The buttons on the remote are very small and are all the same shape. I have better than 20/20 vision and I still must have good lighting and look very closely to read the buttons.
Perfect for usb stick movies
I have most of my movie’s in digital files on me computers and this is perfect for usb movies. It can be set to play a whole file so I can binge watch my old movies and tv shows. Better than my WD player for sub sticks. Plays DVDs nicely too. Finally someone got it right. The small size is very nice too.
We’ve been using this DVD player out on the porch to play our interval training fitness DVDs. The player doesn’t seem to be affected by the changing temps or inclement weather. It’s been working great for several months now.
Won’t play videos on USB port
This is a good DVD/CD player. But I am disappointed because the USB port doesn’t play any format of video. I tried MEPG, AVI, MP4, FLV, none of them will play in this unit. I spoke to their customer service. The USB port only reads pictures (jpeg) or music. I can’t figure why you would make a video machine, then add a USB port that does not read video. It does have a good picture when I used the store bought DVDs. It just won’t read the ones I made with my computer. Also the remote has a complicated layout and it is difficult to read. It has tiny gray buttons with tiny cream color print. I need a flashlight and magnifying glasses to read it. The volume control buttons are where the fast forward buttons should be. Not very intelligently designed. It’s just another okay DVD/CD player . Oh, with a picture reader…
This is probably a 3.5-star item. I’m giving it four for the fast delivery and the completely easy setup. I have a hand-me-down Visio flat-screen TV with all kinds of component capabilities, so I got this little unit to watch DVDs (yeah, I still have some). You don’t have to read any instructions. It’s basically connect the colored wires to the colored ports, plug it in, put batteries in the remote, open the tray, stick the DVD in, and set your TV to the right component. You can then use the remote to play the disc.
