ATSC OTA signals come in just as strong, and just as many channels, as any HDTV when you run the scan. Recognized a USB 2.0 HDD immediately. Flawless performance right out of the box. 5.1 surround over HDMI when the channel is transmitting it (usually live sports) otherwise PCM stereo. 1080i out of the HDMI port which is what the stations are transmitting. The only input is the antenna (and USB). You need a GOOD antenna system for this unit just as you would if you were scanning for channels on your HDTV. Rabbit ears or an attic antenna will get you nothing on this box, or any HDTV, unless your inside a major metro region. Rock solid if you have a proven GOOD antenna and signal delivery setup.

I love this thing

I love this thing! I only have over the air TV but I have lots of stations. With this I always have something go watch. My wife likes her soap opera but works when it’s on so she missed it for a long time. With this She never misses it ever. She oil s being able to speed through the commercials too I got a splitter so now we can watch one channel while we record another. It seems like all the shows I like come on at the same time so now I can watch one record the other and watch it later.

Wow! Tons of free TV!

This little gem is amazing! Bought a factory refurbished unit on a whim (I always buy new) and it works perfectly. Who would’ve thought that we could get 70+ free channels? Great picture on HD channels. Highly recommended. Added an older 1TB USB hard drive for DVR and pause features without a hitch. Very pleased with this purchase.

Affordable Price, Good Picture.

Pro: Affordable price, good picture, USB input for recording, or photos and videos playback.

Easy setup, no remote code though. Audio/video out of sync

Easy setup, grabs a lot of channels and holds them well.

I wish someone made an expensive, reliable HD TV Digital tuner. For now, this will have to do.

This is the second Mediasonic Homeworx I’ve purchased from Amazon. The first lasted just over a year. I have a feeling that since the power supply is built into the box (and not simply an external wall-wart), that the life of this is limited.

Five Stars

It works great with a regular TV, and gets a lot of channels if you have a good antenna.
