Not perfect, but an amazing value for the price!

I suppose that one benefit of entering my seventh decade is the ability to compare the value/priceof of new products with what has come before. From that standpoint alone, the value of this Onkyo receiver is exceptional. It certainly isn’t perfect, but it is easy to set up and really does sound great.

Works well except Chromecast

Works well and is easy to set up and use. Blue tooth is dependable. Chromecast is not dependable. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it just displays “casting” and nothing ever changes. Lost a star from Chromecast performance.

Quite capable and inexpensive Stereo Receiver

I upgraded to this model from a 10 yr old Onkyo receiver that was lacking a sufficient number of HDMI ports. The NR676 has a very reasonable price and a HUGE number of HDMI inputs!! I can easily connect all my devices (Cspire TV, DVD, Roku, Raspberry Pi). Successfully tested streaming Pandora from my Android phone to the NS676 after some stumbling around. I especially like the simplified remote and it’s reduced number of buttons. This model does seem to require me to run a higher volume level …. I am in the 50’s much of the time.

I bought this to replace a 2 year old Sony. (I was tired of fighting with the Sony to properly display pictur and sound on the screen using HMDI I puts). The Onkyo works perfectly as intended out of the box!!!!! Thanks Onkyo

I liked this AVR so much I bought a second one for our living room. What steered me in this direction on the first unit which is used in my “man cave” is the built-in turntable amplifier. It does everything well and has just about every feature built in. Wifi and Bluetooth perform great, has plenty of inputs and processes all the popular codecs and surrounded formats. The tonal quality is very neutral so it presents an accurate soundstage. A whole lot of bang for the price!

not the best for acustics

Upgrading from an older Onkyo with component inputs. This unit is paired with a Samsung UHD TV, Samsung 4k Player and some really old Bose speakers and a Yamaha sub. Set up (onscreen) was a breeze in my odd shaped room and the unit performs flawlessly. Unfortunately the room is all hardwood and drywall, not the best for acustics, but the set up really brings out the best sound for streaming music (via the built in Spotify app), streaming 4k and UHD 4K discs. The meager 55″ TV is the only thing that keeps me going to the theater as the sound in my livingroom is as awe inspiring as the boom at the local theater.

I was using a Marantz 1605 but start having issues with audio and I was looking for Atmos so I get this Onkyo NR-676 love the sound and Video Quality but I notice when I switch from game to PC or TV to DVD or any other input. video take like 4 or 5 seconds. my Marantz take like 2 to 3 maximum. I know is just 2 seconds extra but for me it feels a lot. another thing I don’t like is when I using the PC and I just watching something without audio like Amazon or any other page without audio signal the receiver kinda turn off or put the audio to sleep then until I watch something with audio again the audio on the receiver wake up again and sometimes audio take a while to comeback and sometimes it won’t at all. I have to switch input to get audio back but this is sometimes
