I was even better than I was hoping for. As a former appliance and electronics store manager, I’ve come to appreciate when people care about having all the accessories with a product. It also works perfectly, and appears new with the exception of the original box. I’m very well pleased.

Philips DVD/VCR Combo, DVP3345V/17

This is a very high quality playback unit. I cannot assess record capability because it does not have proper jacks for our televisions. It has only RCA output jacks. Altho’ it was good value for the price, this design limitation might have kept me from purchasing had I known in advance.

Copies only from DVDs to VHS tapes

According to the review comment by M.W.Carle, by just reading the instructions, one can know how to use this unit to copy from VHS tapes TO DVDs. I would certainly like to know how when the only record function is on the VCR side. I have read the English section of the user manual completely and no where does in mention copying TO DVD. I have no need to copy from DVD to VHS. So, I purchased this unit based on Carle’s statement. If you know how to get around this, please post again! I relied on the customer reviews because the product discription was so lacking. Wish that Amazon would take the time to be a lot more thorough. The packing box was covered with info that was not in the Amazon product discription. As a player, it will meet my needs. For copying our wedding VHS tape to a DVD…

Good Deal

We bought this because we thought our old one was breaking. We heard a fluttery noice now and then when DVDs were playing. Alas, it still happens with our new combo player. But the quality of the picture is better. Controls on the remote aren’t as clear/easy to discern as they could be, but certainly functional. I’d like to have a few more controls on the unit itself, as our remote disappears with frequency. For DVDs, all there is is stop and play. No FF, rewind, or pause. I’m over it, though. Maybe.
