I highly recommend this item especially if you’re a truck driver. The regular antenna that comes with the satellite radio is really just junk. It always went out when I pass under an overpass or go in a heavily wooded area. With this real Antenna, I have not had that problem at all. It’s very reliable. Very happy with this. And, it’s over half the price compared to the Robbers (Truck Stops) that sell this! The Truck Stops are just as bad as the IRS!!!!
Go for it.
I should have bought this a long time ago. The OEM hardware Sirius/XM sells is pretty much junk. The radio, mount and antenna…… junk. The set I have now is a free months old. If I went under a bridge, under trees or next to a building is lose signal. Gawd I hate that. I bought the Tram 7743 for about half what they get at the truck stop. I don’t lose the signal anymore. If I go under a freeway underpass that has 4-6 lanes it might drop out. I’m very pleased with this antenna.
I purchased this because my stock magnetic antenna never worked great. I rarely ever had 3 full bars of signal and usually had to jiggle the connection to the back of the unit. Did a little search and found this product.
With modified mounting works even better. .
This is a great antenna for the price. First let me tell how I made this product work even better. I bought an extra cb bracket and enlarged the hole to 5/8ths of an inch. Then I took a 5in bolt and inserted in the enlarged hole on the bracket. You will also need two(2) nuts for the bolt, 1 for the top of the bracket and 1 for the bottom. I then mounted my new bracket on the bar on the back of the cab. This provided a little distance away from the cab to allow full access to receive your satellite signal without any interference. I have made several of these brackets for friends and they all love them. Total cost of materials for the cb bracket, bolt and 2 nuts was less than $15.00. Wish there was some way I could post a picture of my modified bracket.
Great product, perfect signal
Install on my pete was a task since I’m the kind of person that likes things nice and neat. It’s really worth the time though. It connected right to my Sirius xm unit and the signal has not dropped below full since the install (unless you’re in a building). Really like the product and if needed I would buy another. Highly recommend it if you need real signal to your xm radio.
Pretty solid. I have it clamped to the top …
Pretty solid. I have it clamped to the top bar of driver’s side mirror and it is completely out of sight. The head is about a foot above the flat top cab.plenty of lead to go anywhere in the cab.
Good, but not the best.
This is infinitely better than the tiny magnetic antenna that comes with satellite radios. It’s only problem is that it’s too short. Sometimes going under a bridge, it’ll lose the signal. I put a12″ extension on it and now it never loses the signal. Tram should take note and make it taller.
Been using the original antenna the original always cut out …
Been using the original antenna the original always cut out and said the antenna was disconnected. Since I started using this one I have had no problems.
they find little antenna
seems to work just fine. Not quite as strong as I thought it might be but it doubled the reception that I had on my Sirius radio.
