Works perfectly as a digital video recorder for broadcast TV.

I’ve been using this for one week. I could not be more pleased. For $35, plus a cheap USB drive, I have a perfectly functional digital video recorder. As a bonus, the tuner on this device pulls in more channels than my TV does.

Great Box For Those Joining The Cord Cutting Revolution!!

9/24/17 update. Had a power surge elsewhere in the house. It apparently toasted the unit. I just ordered a similar PVR box for about $5 less. The ViewTV did its job. I figure these boxes are mostly similar, so I’m trying something new.

Pros & Cons

PRO’S: It picks up more channels than my TV’s tuner. It can pause live TV. It records. The unit can format a flash drive.

So far, so good.

So far, so good. I purchased this system to go with the Vizio “display” I bought that I unfortunately thought was a TV with a built-in tuner.

Got one of these to replace my Homeworx tuner. It was certainly easy to set up. I just replaced all the cables going into my Homeworx into the corresponding jack in this unit. Also of course plug in the power cord and also put two AAA batteries in the remote.

Great for older TVs and projectors.

Works great. Got this because my old plasma TV doesn’t have a build-in tuner. I liked it enough to buy a second one for my projector. Has HDMI and composite outputs.

It’s a DVR!!!

I was looking for a device which allows me to record over the air TV programs. TIVO was not an option so I came across this little box and because it was inexpensive, i gave it a try.

Poor reliability, but fairly priced.

I bought 2 of these and an AT-300. I only did the firmware update on one of the two I bought. The firmware update changes the software of the 263 to a 163. The one that I didn’t update had more problems. Many of the problems occurred after putting the box in standby; so I decided to leave it on all the time. It burned out after 8 months.
