Excellent Performance!!! Highly recommend!

I have been using this trouble free for 4 months in my travel trailer. I researched all the available antennas and this seems to offer the most versatility unless you want to mount it permanently. I mounted it on a Winegard tripod and bungee strapped it to my existing antenna on top to keep it level and deter theft. It has to be directly connected to and active receiver to find the satellites and test out. I had to run the cable in the slide out gasket and along the interior ceiling to the receiver under my TV. I couldn’t get it to work by connecting to the satellite connection on my trailer. It works in light rain, but cuts out in thunderstorms. It isn’t very heavy either. Dish customer service it marginal at best though.

Much better than the TailGator ….

We had a TailGator for a couple of years, and it worked as advertised, but had some limitations. While it was small, light, and easy to handle, the internal antenna is pretty small, and sometimes it could only produce a weak signal. It was also limited to the western satellites which was a problem at some campsites, especially up north. It will also support a second receiver, but you have to be watching a program available on the same satellite as the main receiver is tuned to.

Perfect!

After looking for a mobile solution for our 5th wheel we found the pathway X2.

We got this because it has the biggest reflector of any of the portable dishes and brings in a great picture.

If you live on the east coast, especially the Northeast this is the one for you

This is one of the only portable automatic satellite dishs that I’m aware of that can utilize both the Eastern arc satellites as well as the Western arc satellites. Most portable dishes can only access the Western arc. It’s a little bit bigger and a ittle bit heavier than its competitors but if you live anywhere on the East Coast and camp anywhere where there’s trees this is a good pick to insure you can get a signal.

Wally + Winegard antenna is a beautiful thing to behold!

Easy, flawless installation on first attempt. Picture on TV is beautiful 1080p HD. The Wally works just like our Hopper does at home, so there is no “learning” curve at all. Antenna is light weight, yet sturdy. We set it up on the tripod we purchased along with the antenna, made sure the handle was pointing north, and it found all three western arc satellites as promised. It took approximately 30 minutes from set up to TV watching what with all the software downloading. IN short, very pleased.

We are much happier with this Winnegard then we were with the King …

I had a problem letting linked in until I received the email, below from Winnegard. Since following their recommendations our system is running very well. We are much happier with this Winnegard then we were with the King Tailgater we owned. Coupled with the Wally receiver this is really gret.

Works great though the camper cable plug

I used our X2 bundle officially last weekend while camping. We were camping just north of Bay City Michigan. It rained half the time we were there (of coarse) not hard rain but pretty crappy nun the less. The X2 didn’t skip a beat. I bought this dish because of the bigger size of the reflector and the capability to get the Eastern and Western arc satellites. I originally set the dish up at our house in Toledo (OH) I used the eastern arc satellites both at home and camping, I was unable to get the western satellites. If you set this up at home for the first time so it can download any updates, connect the receiver to you main dish location in the House. Don’t us a “joey” location.

If You Want Great TV From a Mobile Antenna, Buy The Winegard X2!

The Winegard X2 is a great satellite antenna and Amazon’s delivery was excellent. I researched different products once I decided to go with DiSH for the “pay as you go” plan for tailgating at college football games. Ordered the Winegard on Sunday night and it was at my door on Tuesday afternoon. Setup was easy (10 mins) but had to spend a little time with DiSH technical service to program the receiver-they were very helpful. The test run is very important before you get to the game or campsite. To get local channels you have to contact DiSH and provide a local address that they link to your account. At the tailgate while everyone else is spending 30+ minutes manually trying to find satellites, the Winegard goes to work and locks in the satellites in about 5 minutes. People walk over to my tailgate to watch it work. The signal and TV (HiDef) quality is fantastic. One watchout, if you place the X2 on your car or truck roof, don’t touch the vehicle while it is finding the satellites; even the slightest movement will cause the scan to fail and you have to start over. The X2 is a little larger in diameter than the Tailgater so it requires more cargo room but the larger antenna improves performance. The 2 receiver TV capability is also a very nice feature for big football weekends and Bowl games. Overall, I’m very happy with this product and would highly recommend it.

First Impressions on day one *UPDATED*

Its really not fair to post a raving review after owning the product for only 24 hours, but I want to give my first impressions of this package deal. It came in a big box with no apparent damage and both the satellite and the Wally were brand new unused items. Setup was quick and the activation and Flex program package were painless to setup through Dish customer service. Once the initial setup and programing was completed and paid for I unplugged the Wally and moved the dish over a bit as during the activation process I noticed the signal was at 31 because it was aimed directly at the Chimney on my roof. After plugging the Wally back in it was exactly 11min from plug in to watching TV on the screen. The signal was now at 53. My Dish salesman was great, but you got to listen to them when they start reading the Agreement because the rascal tried to slip the protection charge in there that I did not want. Only time will tell how this system stands up to the riggers of camping but I would highly recommend it to anyone. Servicing your account through myDish is very straight forward as well. Next in line for us will be the DVR activation and possibly the OTA adapter. I will update all this as time permits. For now I just setup the dish on a flat level ground, so I did not purchase the stand for it.
