Great when it worked…

I installed this myself on my motorhome with no problems. It took a little help to get it on the roof as I am 75 Yrs old and don’t have the strength I used to. The assembly and installation only took a couple of hours. I would recommend purchasing the optional mounting plate.

… years with my bus I can’t tell you how happy I am to push a button

After manually setting up a tripod and dish for the past three years with my bus I can’t tell you how happy I am to push a button, walk away and do something else while it tunes in all by itself. I have wasted so much time trying to dial-in The satellite manually and I wasn’t going to purchase a $400-$600 meter when this is so much simpler, pricier, yes, but well worth it.

The old Motosat HD stopped locking onto the satellites. Since Motosat is out of business and thinking that spending $900 on a new (3rd party) controller was a risk, I decided to go with the Winegard. It was delivered quickly and installed easily. I was able to feed the wires through the same holes as the Motosat. A pro was not needed to make the change.

Very happy with this unit.

Took some doing for a couple in their 70s to get it up on the roof. Followed the instructions carefully while installing. We have used the unit on two three week camping trips and it worked flawlessly. Bought the metal base for the roof and would do so again for the secure flat fit. Works fine with the Genie receiver. Acquired satellites through the trees and in the clear. Expect a little more acquisition time if it has to find the signal through branches.

Happy Customer!

I bought this satellite for my toy hauler and couldn’t be happier! My wife and I travel a lot and I was getting a bit tired of having to setup my portable satellite over and over again so after much thought (due to the price), we decided to make the purchase. Other than needing assistance on placing the satellite on the roof, due to the weight, installation was a breeze (1-2 hrs). After guiding the wires to the appropriate area of the rig, I powered the system up and was watching HDTV in a matter of 5-10 minutes! This thing is awesome! I definitely recommend this product as well as the “mounting plate”.

Works with Genie, very easy install

Very easy install, as I was replacing an existing older satellite. Hardest part was getting the control wire through the ceiling and up to the box location. Don’t be afraid to install this yourself… very few tools needed. Also, you will need a hand getting it on the roof. After installation, just plug it all in and hook up the directv box and you are watching tv…. I had converted my house over to the genie, which I take with me in the motorhome and this works great with it. My biggest question was “will it work with the genie”, and the answer is obviously yes, just hook it up and let it go through it’s process.

Big, heavy, pricey… BUT IT WORKS GREAT!

I bought this auto aiming dish for tailgating. Aside from being quite large and very heavy (both things I was aware of before deciding to buy it) it is perfect. No more hand held signal strength meters and compasses and wasted time spent trying to manually aim an DirecTV HD dish on a tripod. I literally throw this thing up on my car roof (I mounted it to a 2′ x 4′ plywood base), connect the coax and control cables and turn on the controller and a few minutes later I’m watching College Game Day. This dish works as good as advertised, even in very rainy conditions.
